Job Description Summary :
Supports the departmental mission of providing pleasant mealtime experiences to patients, associates, physicians, volunteers, visitors and public through the proper washing and sanitizing of dietary utensils and equipment and delivery of services and transportation of food service carts to patient care areas.
WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND ROTATING HOLIDAYS. EVENING SHIFT 1-9 PM., 12-8 and 11-7 pm
1. According to specific procedures, clean utensils including dishes, glassware, trays, pots, and pans, equipment and equipment parts either by hand or machine.
a. Uses dishwashing equipment according to departmental procedures.
b. Is familiar with all cleaning agents and their proper use and disposal.
c. Maintains a sufficient supply of clean utensils and dishes on hand to meet demands.
d. Stores clean pots and pans in proper manner according to departmental procedures.
e. Delivers meal carts or requested items to nursing units in a timely and efficient manner according to procedure and policy.
f. Communicates effectively to Expeditors, Starters, Room Service Specialists and Call Center Specialists.
g. Retrieves soiled meal carts from patient care areas.
h. Cleans food carts.
i. Cleans dishes, dish machine and dish room according to policy.
j. Washes pots and pans utilizing the three stage washing technique.
k. Creates a service culture.
l. Serves as a quality assurance control point for every aspect of the At Your Service program.
m. Ensures all actions reflect the overall program service goals.
n. Assumes the role of a patient advocate.
o. Performs other duties as requested.
2. Keeps work area clean and sanitary at all times.
3. Replenishes chemicals as needed to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing.
4. Creates a culture of service.
